Key Responsibilities
The Immunostains Laboratory conducts three categories of testing on patient tissue samples for clinical diagnosis.

Core responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with team members to create an inclusive workplace and respecting diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
- Performing pre-analytic specimen processing.
- Utilizing various laboratory and office equipment.
- Inputting information and test orders into the laboratory computer system.
- Managing a high volume of inquiries regarding laboratory testing information.
- Ensuring accurate patient identification on specimens.
- Documenting and resolving pre-analytic specimen-related issues.
- Potentially preparing complex reagents.
- Overseeing supply inventory for the work unit.
- Operating automated systems.
- Providing training to colleagues.

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess an associate degree or a high school diploma/GED along with two years of relevant work experience, including clinical laboratory experience.
Additional Qualifications
- An associate degree in a health or science field is preferred.
- Previous lab assistant experience is advantageous.
- Attention to detail and adherence to strict safety protocols for handling chemicals, reagents, and infectious agents are essential.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in reading specimen labels and working with numerical data to avoid mislabeling.
- Familiarity with computers, keyboarding, telephone operations, and other office equipment is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities, both written and verbal, are necessary.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Flexibility to accommodate scheduling changes, including off-shifts, holidays, and weekend assignments.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation for this role is $25.29 per hour, with education, experience, and tenure considered in the job offer.

Schedule
This is a full-time position with a schedule of Tuesday to Saturday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The start time on Saturdays can be flexible.
