Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

1. Client Engagement:
  • Consult with clients to address legal matters and provide guidance.
  • Assess the strengths of a case and inform clients about available legal avenues.

2. Legal Research and Fact-Finding:
  • Perform legal research to collect pertinent information and case law.
  • Investigate case details by interviewing witnesses, examining documents, and collaborating with experts as necessary.

3. Drafting Legal Instruments:
  • Create legal documents such as complaints, motions, and briefs.
  • Articulate legal arguments clearly and effectively.

4. Court Representation:
  • Advocate for clients in court during hearings and trials.
  • Present evidence, question witnesses, and argue legal points before a judge or jury.

5. Negotiation and Resolution:
  • Participate in settlement discussions with opposing parties to resolve cases amicably when feasible.
  • Counsel clients on the advantages and disadvantages of settling versus proceeding to trial.

6. Case Oversight:
  • Oversee multiple cases concurrently, tracking deadlines and developments.
  • Collaborate with paralegals and support staff effectively.

7. Legal Strategy Development:
  • Formulate and execute legal strategies that align with client interests.
  • Anticipate and counter opposing counsel's tactics.

8. Appeals Management:
  • Manage appeals for cases that require further review beyond the trial court.

Qualifications:

1. Education and Credentials:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.

2. Professional Experience:
  • Several years of legal practice with a focus on litigation.

3. Analytical and Communication Proficiencies:
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

4. Advocacy Competence:
  • Proven ability to advocate effectively in legal settings.
  • Confidence in public speaking and presenting legal arguments.

5. Negotiation Expertise:
  • Proficient negotiation skills for out-of-court resolutions.

  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.
