The Role

The perfect candidate will possess a solid background in managing litigation cases and be well-versed in relevant regulations. This position provides the chance to engage with complex cases and address emerging legal challenges, collaborating with skilled colleagues nationwide while offering sound legal counsel to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, and memoranda.
  • Participate in court hearings, depositions, and mediation sessions.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across various departments and offices, fostering a supportive team atmosphere.
  • Independently oversee a litigation caseload, managing cases from inception to resolution.
  • Maintain communication with clients and provide regular updates on case status.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice in the state of Virginia.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in defense litigation.
  • Preferred experience in insurance defense, general liability, trucking and transportation, or complex litigation.
  • Familiarity with emerging legal issues related to e-commerce or the gig economy is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Proven experience in drafting discovery and pretrial motions is essential.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced technical skills are necessary.
  • Experience with court appearances, depositions, and trial proceedings is advantageous.
