Position Overview

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a qualified attorney to join the General Civil Unit as an Assistant Attorney General specializing in civil litigation. Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will represent the Commonwealth of Virginia, its agencies, and its officials in both state and federal courts. Responsibilities will encompass:

  • Drafting legal documents, including pleadings and briefs.
  • Managing all phases of discovery, including investigations and e-discovery.
  • Providing legal counsel throughout the litigation process, including court appearances and trial work.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess admission to the Virginia State Bar and ideally have three to five years of experience in civil litigation within federal or state courts. Candidates should demonstrate:
