**Job Summary**

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trial Attorney to join its team. As a key member of the Trial Section, you will be responsible for defending the Commonwealth and its agencies in state and federal courts.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Defend the Commonwealth and its agencies in state and federal courts, litigating cases involving personal injury torts, constitutional rights, and other complex legal issues.
  • Conduct all aspects of discovery, including investigation, e-discovery, and motions practice.
  • Provide legal advice to clients through the course of litigation, court appearances, and trial and appellate work.
  • Manage a diverse and challenging caseload, prioritizing tasks and working effectively under pressure.
  • Supervise and assist junior attorneys, providing guidance and support to ensure successful case outcomes.

**Requirements**

  • Admission to the Virginia State Bar is required.
  • A minimum of three to five years of civil litigation experience in federal or state court is preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage complex cases and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adjust priorities without close supervision.
