Job Summary

The Director of Student Services (DSS) plays a critical role in ensuring each student at Fusion Academy has a life-changing experience.

The DSS develops robust academic plans, completes contracts, creates and manages the campus schedule, and owns the re-enrollment process.

This role is essential in driving financial success, developing satisfied stakeholders, and delivering a world-class education.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Review and interpret student transcripts and grade reports to inform course selections.
  2. Collaborate with administrators, teachers, registrars, and post-secondary counselors to make course recommendations.
  3. Maintain accurate student information in Fusion's student information systems.
  4. Recommend post-secondary counseling, test prep, remediation, tutoring, and enrichment services.
  5. Support the post-secondary application process as needed.
  6. Create contracts for student courses and course changes.
  7. Review contract terms with families and ensure timely signatures.
  8. Create student and teacher schedules, and update them as needed.
  9. Manage the campus schedule to maximize enrollment capacity.
  10. Support the Head of School in forecasting student sessions.
  11. Relay staffing needs to the team based on enrollment and scheduling trends.
  12. Meet with parents and students to plan courses, review contracts, and create schedules.
  13. Communicate regularly with parents and students about their experience.

What You'll Own

The DSS will own long-term academic planning for each student, ensuring we meet their individual needs, graduation requirements, and post-Fusion goals.

They'll manage contracts for all courses, create and maintain the campus schedule, and drive re-enrollment results.

The DSS will also maintain accurate student records in Fusion's Student Information System.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in education, business, or a related field.

Background in education or guidance counseling is preferred.

They'll be highly organized, with effective time management skills, and be a goal-oriented, strategic thinker.

Clear and effective communication skills are essential, along with patience and a problem-solving approach.
