Job Overview

The Opportunity: The GWAM Strategy team is focused on fortifying MIM's competitive edge and generating shareholder value through expedited decision-making. The Strategy Manager Lead will be instrumental in shaping and implementing the overarching strategy, growth, and transformation of the MIM divisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee strategic projects from inception to completion, collaborating with diverse stakeholders across various functions to facilitate change with minimal oversight.
  • Evaluate significant internal and external trends, benchmarks, and noteworthy competitor actions to provide insights and drive executive decisions by the leadership team.
  • Produce thought leadership supported by analyses of market trends, competitor behavior, industry dynamics, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management, business units, and functional teams, to gather insights, align goals, and guide decision-making processes.
  • Assist in the Objectives and Key Results (OKR) framework to track and evaluate the success of strategic initiatives and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
  • Prepare and contribute to presentations for various internal audiences, including the GWAM Leadership Team, Executive Leadership Team, and Board of Directors.
  • Support additional strategic projects and initiatives led by team members as capacity allows.
  • Facilitate internal team-building activities.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred professional designation (MBA, CPA, CA, CGA, CMA, CFA) with over 7 years of relevant progressive experience in financial services, strategy consulting, corporate strategy, or a related domain.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the institutional asset management sector, encompassing both private and public markets.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to distill complex information into actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to work autonomously, access pertinent information, and navigate organizational silos.
  • Proficient in managing challenging situations and effectively escalating issues.
  • Outstanding organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to convey complex business challenges in clear and impactful terms.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities efficiently.
