Position Overview: The Director serves as a client partner, offering insightful guidance in the realm of sustainability strategy while enhancing our collaborative efforts on impactful projects. This role requires adept problem-solving skills and the ability to manage project specifics while keeping the client's overarching objectives in focus. The Director will be part of our Strategy Team and will report to the Head of Sustainability Strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate strong, authentic relationships with clients and develop a comprehensive understanding of their business and industry.
  • Strategic Counsel: Act as a thought partner, providing strategic advice to help clients advance their sustainability and ESG strategies.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work with clients to foster internal support and engagement from senior management.
  • Client Satisfaction: Ensure project deliverables align with clients' long-term goals by actively seeking and applying feedback.
  • Growth Opportunities: Identify and develop opportunities for organic growth within existing client relationships.
  • Proposal Development: Collaborate with the Client Engagement Team to contribute to proposals and pitches for new clients.
  • Sales Goals: Achieve annual sales targets by expanding work with a portfolio of clients and potentially acquiring new clients.
  • Industry Representation: Represent thinkPARALLAX at conferences and industry events.

Project Leadership:

  • Lead various sustainability and ESG projects, including benchmarking, materiality assessments, and ESG reporting.
  • Oversee the development of project deliverables and meeting materials.
  • Manage day-to-day client interactions for complex projects and initiatives.
  • Provide expertise in multiple sustainability disciplines, including governance, circularity, climate change, DEIB, ESG frameworks, ethics, and reporting.
  • Coordinate resource needs with the Operations Team.
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients and partners throughout project lifecycles.
  • Identify opportunities for internal process improvements.

Strategic Leadership and Development:

  • Identify and develop new core service offerings, including research, proposal development, and internal training.
  • Mentor Strategy Team members to meet or exceed performance expectations.
  • Train team members on communication and strategy services, industry trends, and project implementation tools.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of sustainability's value to business and foundational ESG topics.
  • Proficient in tools and methodologies for assessing ESG risks and opportunities.
  • Able to articulate long-term sustainability goals and implementation strategies.
  • Familiarity with ESG/Sustainability reporting processes, including GRI, SASB, and TCFD.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality, strategic work products.
  • Ability to build rapport with key stakeholders and engage senior executives.
  • Experience in securing new client work and expanding existing relationships.
  • Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Exceptional organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a remote-first, fast-paced environment.
