Position Summary
The Senior Director will provide both strategic and operational oversight of the Company's comprehensive property, casualty, and bond risk management initiatives, leading the Insurable Risk Management Division.

Key Responsibilities
The incumbent will:

  • Identify and assess potential risks associated with the Company's operations and subsidiaries, developing effective strategies to mitigate financial repercussions.
  • Serve as a primary contact for legal representatives, insurance providers, and investigators regarding incidents that may lead to financial loss, while continuously enhancing processes to avert future occurrences.
  • Oversee the management of the Company's extensive property and casualty insurance portfolio, currently valued at $48 million in premiums and covering assets worth $9.9 billion.
  • Negotiate the Errors & Omissions Insurance program for over 10,500 Financial Representatives, with a premium of $13.6 million, along with other critical coverages such as the Financial Institution Bond and Cyber insurance.

Accountabilities
The role includes:

  • Management of broker relationships and claims processes to ensure alignment across various business units.
  • Leadership of the Insurable Risk Management team, overseeing claims and third-party handlers, including negotiations and settlements.
  • Collaboration with legal and asset management teams on claims resolutions.
  • Engagement with Human Resources to manage Workers Compensation claims and oversee state fund programs.
  • Assessment of the Company's risk appetite and exploration of diverse insurance coverage methods, including alternative risk programs.
  • Preparation of presentations for the Board and key stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of coverage terms and strategies.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in risk management, insurance, or business; a Law Degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of risk management experience, including at least three years in a leadership role within a large corporate environment.
  • A strong advocacy for risk management, demonstrating leadership through actions and communication.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance markets, policy frameworks, and best practices in risk management.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and negotiation skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and RMIS systems.
  • Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation is required; a Master's degree in risk management or business and ARM certification are preferred.
