Position Summary:
The Patient Services Coordinator is responsible for providing outstanding service to patients, both in person and via phone. This role involves interviewing patients and their representatives to gather comprehensive demographic, financial, and insurance information necessary for billing and account management. The Coordinator performs various clerical and patient service tasks to ensure smooth operations within the medical office. Responsibilities include managing multiple phone lines, scheduling appointments, processing medical records requests, entering patient information, and collecting payments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit a high level of professionalism and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance details for accuracy.
  • Confirm insurance coverage and process copays, co-insurance, and outstanding balances.
  • Ensure all patient intake forms are completed and signed.
  • Manage patient communication through multiple channels, including phone lines and messaging portals.
  • Schedule patient appointments efficiently.
  • Handle medical record requests in accordance with established policies.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to enhance the patient experience.

Qualifications:

Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Certificate.

Required Skills:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a medical office or healthcare environment.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with healthcare insurance.
  • Proficient computer skills with a typing speed of at least 30 WPM.
  • A strong commitment to assisting others and providing excellent customer service.
  • Highly dependable and organized.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • A polished and professional appearance.
  • Ability to learn quickly, retain training, and solve problems independently.

Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with medical terminology.
