Job Overview

Position Title: Welding Engineer

Reports to: Business Unit Leader FLSA Status: EXEMPT

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM); extended hours may be necessary to meet business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and review of welding and operational guidelines, standards, and specifications.
  • Enhancement of cycle times and production efficiency for designated equipment.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff, focusing on both technical and production aspects.
  • Support the development and functioning of various welding and assembly operations.
  • Adjust computer-controlled robotic movements for optimal performance.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on robotic systems and components.
  • Design robotic path motions to improve efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Assist in the configuration and application of robotic systems.
  • Set up and troubleshoot robotic systems, utilizing knowledge of microprocessors, programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, and sensors.
  • Develop and facilitate welder training programs for technicians in the application and validation of welding processes.
  • Create welding techniques and procedures tailored for robotic welding operations.
  • Inspect weld joints and perform tests to ensure compliance with company standards, national codes, and customer specifications.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in interacting with all organizational levels.
  • Capable of working independently and managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Availability for after-hours support as needed.
  • Occasional weekend work may be required.
  • Some travel may be necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in multi-tasking.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Preferred minimum of two years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • Ability to work safely and navigate various terrains for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to manipulate medium to large objects, materials, or tools as needed.
  • Frequent use of arms and legs over extended periods.

Work Environment:

The role requires daily transitions between an office and a manufacturing setting. Compliance with all applicable PPE regulations is mandatory while on the manufacturing floor. The ability to lift at least 40 lbs is essential.

Confidentiality and Teamwork:

Collaboration as part of a team is essential. Maintaining confidentiality during assignments is required.
