Job Overview

Position Title: Welding Engineer

Reporting To: Business Unit Leader Classification: Exempt

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM); extended hours may be necessary to meet operational demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and review of welding procedures, standards, and specifications.
  • Enhancing cycle times and production efficiency for designated equipment.
  • Delivering training sessions for both technical staff and production personnel.
  • Supporting the development and operation of various welding and assembly cells.
  • Adjusting computer-controlled robotic movements for optimal performance.
  • Conducting preventive and corrective maintenance on robotic systems and components.
  • Designing robotic path motions to improve efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Assisting in the design, configuration, and application of robotic systems.
  • Setting up and troubleshooting robotic systems using knowledge of electronics, mechanics, and control systems.
  • Developing and facilitating welder training programs for technicians focused on the application and validation of welding processes.
  • Creating welding techniques and procedures tailored for robotic welding operations.
  • Inspecting weld joints and performing tests to ensure compliance with company standards, national codes, and customer specifications.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to engage effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Availability for after-hours support as needed.
  • Occasional weekend support may be required.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Preferred minimum of two years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • Must be able to work safely and navigate various terrains for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally.
  • Capable of manipulating medium to large objects, materials, or tools as required.
  • Frequent use of arms and legs in a repetitive manner over extended periods.

Work Environment:

The role involves transitioning between an office and a manufacturing environment daily. Compliance with all applicable personal protective equipment (PPE) regulations is mandatory while on the manufacturing floor. The ability to lift at least 40 lbs is essential.

Confidentiality and Teamwork:

Collaboration within a team is crucial. Maintaining confidentiality during assignments is required.
