Job Overview

Position Title: Welding Engineer

Reports to: Business Unit Leader FLSA Status: EXEMPT

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM); extended hours may be necessary to meet operational demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and prepare welding and process guidelines, standards, and specifications.
  • Implement cycle time enhancements and production efficiency improvements on designated equipment.
  • Provide technical and production training for personnel.
  • Support the development and operation of various welding and assembly cells.
  • Adjust computer-controlled robotic movements for optimal performance.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on robotic systems and components.
  • Design robotic path motions to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Assist in the design, configuration, and application of robotic systems.
  • Set up and troubleshoot robotic systems, utilizing knowledge of microprocessors, programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, and sensors.
  • Develop and coordinate welder training programs for support technicians in the application and validation of welding processes.
  • Establish welding techniques and procedures for robotic welding operations.
  • Inspect weld joints and perform tests to ensure compliance with company standards, national codes, and customer specifications.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to effectively interact with all organizational levels.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks independently.
  • Availability for after-hours support as needed.
  • Occasional weekend support may be required.
  • Some travel may be necessary.
  • Strong multitasking abilities with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Preferred minimum of two years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • Ability to work safely and move at a moderate to fast pace across various terrains for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 40 lbs on occasion.
  • Occasional manipulation of medium to large objects, materials, or tools.
  • Frequent use of arms and legs over extended periods.

Work Environment:

This position requires daily transitions between an office and manufacturing environment. Compliance with all applicable PPE is mandatory while on the manufacturing floor. Ability to lift at least 40 lbs is essential.
