Job Summary

Lone Star College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Education courses. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree and experience in teaching and mentoring students. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging lessons, evaluating student progress, and maintaining professional relationships with students and colleagues.

This is a part-time position, with a maximum of five classes per academic year. The work schedule will vary depending on class time, and instructors are required to meet with classes at all scheduled times and be available to students outside of class instruction.

The successful candidate will be committed to academic excellence, exceptional service, and providing a dynamic climate for life-long learning. They will also be able to appreciate alternative viewpoints, work effectively with a wide variety of people, and demonstrate interest in interdisciplinary teaching, service learning, and learning technologies.

The salary for this position is $53.82 per contact hour. Benefits include tuition waiver, participation in a tax-deferred retirement plan, and professional development opportunities.

Responsibilities

The Adjunct Faculty member will be responsible for:

  • Teaching Education courses at a variety of times and locations
  • Creating engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material
  • Submitting required college reports and forms in a timely manner
  • Utilizing a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines
  • Maintaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
  • Attending meetings, trainings, and orientations as required
Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • A Master's degree
  • Experience in teaching and mentoring students
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to appreciate alternative viewpoints and work effectively with a wide variety of people
