Job Summary

Lone Star College is seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Government courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging lessons, evaluating student progress, and maintaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.

This is a part-time, semester-by-semester position, contingent upon student demand. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Political Science/Government or a related field, with 18 graduate hours in Political Science/Government.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach at various times and locations, including day, evening, and weekend classes. The work schedule will vary depending on class time, and instructors are required to meet with classes at all scheduled times and be available to students outside of class instruction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Government courses at a variety of times and locations
  • Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material
  • Evaluate student progress and inform students in a timely manner
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required
Requirements

  • Master's degree in Political Science/Government or a related field
  • 18 graduate hours in Political Science/Government
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to appreciate alternative viewpoints and work effectively with a wide variety of people
