Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team at Abacus Group LLC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities and enhancing the security posture of our clients through various assessments and testing methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting comprehensive external and internal network vulnerability assessments, along with penetration testing and social engineering exercises.
  • Executing penetration tests on moderately complex web applications using both black box and white box techniques, in accordance with industry standards such as OWASP Web Security Top 10 and PTES.
  • Developing and reviewing detailed cybersecurity testing reports to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Staying informed about the latest advancements in penetration testing tools, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Engaging in white box risk assessments and penetration tests of cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) as required.
  • Assisting in the creation of scripts, tools, and processes aimed at automating various penetration testing tasks.
  • Presenting findings from penetration tests to clients, providing nuanced technical recommendations, and leading discussions within a short timeframe.
  • Collaborating with and training team members from the Cybersecurity Red Team on various tools and techniques related to network penetration testing.

  • Comprehensive understanding of the OSI model, common protocols, and key exploitation vectors.
  • Knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK Framework and the Penetration Testing Execution Standard.
  • Understanding of heuristic-based threat detection technologies such as IDS, IPS, EDR, and XDR.
  • Basic knowledge of data center, cloud, and virtual networking concepts.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in penetration testing.
  • Experience in scripting with Python for automation or cybersecurity purposes is preferred.
  • A degree in Information Technology or Cybersecurity is advantageous.
  • Possession of relevant certifications such as PNPT, OSCP, CRTO, or CARTP is a plus.
