Position Overview:
We are in search of a dedicated and skilled Compliance Engineer to become a part of our client's Cloud Engineering team, providing support to their customers and service divisions.

This role involves managing the daily operations of compliance services. The Compliance Engineer will take charge of planning, scoping, executing, and reporting audits in accordance with compliance standards and frameworks that pertain to various business sectors and external clients.

As a member of the Cloud Engineering team, you will report directly to the Director of Cloud Security and Compliance Services. The Compliance Engineer will utilize insights from engineering, operational, and analytical teams while offering strategic guidance to assist our partners, educational institutions, and governmental agencies in migrating their workloads and sensitive data to the cloud.

Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and propose solutions for information security-related challenges based on experience and industry best practices for IT systems, services, applications, and products.
- Engage in regulatory security assessments and authorizations in the public sector alongside teams and clients, determining control requirements and recommending alternative strategies to help clients develop compliance roadmaps.
- Collaborate directly with clients to review compliance documentation and requirements, aiding in the understanding of control implementations within their environments.

- Facilitate client training sessions, in-depth discussions, strategic presentations, and hands-on demonstrations to clarify how compliance is maintained while operating IT in the cloud.
- Keep the Compliance Advisory leadership team updated on customer engagement status, issues, and activities.
- Comprehend cloud-based engineering implementations and the flow of enterprise information systems.
- Support the deployment and integration of security and compliance measures within a client's cloud infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Cloud Computing models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
- Understanding of security implementations across Infrastructure, Platform, and Application Layers.
- Proficiency with common security tools, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and web services.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to think critically and respond to time-sensitive requests.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Compensation:
The hourly rate ranges from $70 to $90, with exact compensation dependent on various factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages commence on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as options for Health Savings Accounts (HSA), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), and 401K retirement plans with employer matching.

Required Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in operations auditing, risk management, IT compliance, information security, or technology project management.
- At least 3 years of experience in the Security and Compliance domain, with hands-on experience in FISMA/FedRAMP compliance standards and the NIST Risk Management Framework.
- Familiarity with NIST and FedRAMP documentation, including SP-800-30, SP-800-37, SP-800-53, SP-800-39, and FIPS standards.

- Experience in conducting technical assessments to support compliance efforts such as FedRAMP, HIPAA, PCI, and ISO standards.
- Proven ability to develop and review system security plans, information security policies, and incident response plans.
