Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Nautique Boat Company. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of material planning and purchasing to support our marine manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Material Planning and Purchasing: Plan and prepare material consumption according to supplier lead times, ensuring optimal inventory levels and minimizing stockouts.
  • Purchase Order Management: Enter purchase orders into our ERP system (Epicor 11/Kinetic) and communicate with suppliers regularly to follow up on open orders, forecasts, and past due orders.
  • Supply Chain Risk Management: Proactively assess and manage supply chain risks, implementing strategies to mitigate part shortages and stockouts, and acting with a sense of urgency to ensure production has all necessary materials.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain excellent relationships and communication with suppliers and internal departments, ensuring seamless collaboration and issue resolution.
  • Inventory Control: Assist with inventory control duties, including cycle counting, purchase order receipt accuracy, and tracking returned material inventory.
  • Decision-Making: Make sound judgments and take the initiative to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and make decisions/choices within the functional area of responsibility with minimal direct supervision.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, logistics, operations management, industrial engineering, or similar.
  • Experience: 3+ years of purchasing experience, with a strong background in supply chain and logistics.
  • Skills: Analytical and critical thinking skills, ERP/MRP experience, strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, excellent organization and project management skills, and ability to juggle and manage competing tasks and demands.
  • Certifications: APICS certification and Epicor/Kinetic experience.
