Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program (BHCHP) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary clinical team, you will provide high-quality primary and urgent care to adults experiencing homelessness.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive medical care to patients, including history taking, physical examinations, diagnostic studies, and therapy initiation.
- Refer patients to medical specialists, hospital admission, medical respite care, and detox facilities as needed.
- Participate in collaborative relationships with BHCHP physicians and other clinicians to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Provide on-call coverage and participate in peer education and teaching opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, adhering to BHCHP guidelines.
- Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Registered or eligible to be registered with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Experience working with underserved populations, mentally ill, homeless, and/or persons with substance abuse problems preferred.
