Business Development Executive Role

We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Executive to lead and cultivate new business opportunities with government, education, and private sector clients across the Mid-Atlantic Region. This role requires a seasoned professional capable of establishing new organizational partnerships and advancing innovative projects from conception to implementation. Key responsibilities may include:

  • Developing and executing a sales growth plan across multiple markets.
  • Utilizing a Solution Sales process methodology to qualify and disqualify complex sales opportunities.
  • Spearheading CEG's business development activities, identifying sector-specific sales strategies to increase company revenue, branding, and impact.
  • Serving as the primary client interface, leading customer meetings, presentations, and negotiating contracts on behalf of the organization.
  • Developing relationships with potential partners across all organizational levels, from government executives to building engineering staff.
  • Coordinating internal engineering resources to evaluate sales recommendations, managing site audits, cost-savings calculations, and return-on-investment analyses.
  • Representing CEG at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events, showcasing emerging energy sector trends.
  • Articulating the benefits of infrastructure modernization and energy-related approaches to drive critical savings and optimization across a customer organization.
  • Utilizing a disciplined sales and market development process that relies heavily on financial drivers.
  • Having a working knowledge of the emerging energy market and current public sector market drivers.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of complex sales and/or business development experience in government, C&I, higher education, or healthcare.
  • A proven ability to build an internal and external partnership ecosystem for customer acquisition.
  • Consultative sales experience across a multi-state territory.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Return-on-Investment based financial transactions related to energy conservation, sustainability, or facility optimization programs.
