Job Summary
Fishbeck is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Remediation Specialist to support environmental assessment and cleanup initiatives. You will collaborate with a team of committed professionals focused on the evaluation and remediation of contaminated sites through the design, specification, development, and assessment of remediation strategies. This role demands innovation and meticulousness to assist clients in understanding local, state, and federal regulations and ensuring environmental compliance.

Primary Functions
  • Conduct and analyze site investigations of contaminated materials (soil, groundwater, surface water, soil gas, indoor air, and/or sediment).
  • Execute feasibility assessments and cost evaluations.
  • Design and carry out pilot studies.
  • Implement both ex-situ and in-situ remediation techniques for soil, sediment, and groundwater.
  • Develop vapor mitigation systems.
  • Draft technical documents, reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, performance monitoring plans, operation and maintenance plans, and proposals.
  • Oversee projects and liaise with clients and regulatory bodies.
Minimum Physical Requirements
Work is primarily conducted indoors, with occasional outdoor tasks. Moderate lifting, carrying, and traversing uneven terrain and construction or drilling sites may be required. Standard office conditions apply, including sitting and using a computer. Travel to project sites may be necessary. Visual acuity is essential for fulfilling responsibilities. Desired Education/Licensure
Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related discipline. Professional Engineer (PE) license, Certified Professional Geologist (CPG) certification, and/or a Master's degree are advantageous.

  • 8+ years of experience in environmental remediation.
  • Proven technical expertise in the design, specification, development, and/or evaluation of remediation projects.
  • Familiarity with governmental regulations regarding environmental compliance and remediation.
  • Able to function effectively in a team environment and communicate proficiently.
  • Dedicated to customer service and prioritizing worker health and safety.
  • Attuned to quality, budget, schedule expectations, and scope-specific tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications.
