Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer, Aviation to join our Florida team. This position can be located in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Tampa, or Jacksonville.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage tasks performed under project contract and serve as primary point-of-contact for all contractual issues.
  • Help build a delivery team for airport civil projects.
  • Plan, budget, and prepare construction documents, as well as administer construction projects.
  • Ensure quality work is completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Identify, research, and qualify RFP/RFQ's and upcoming projects.
  • Lead design efforts in airfield geometry, airfield pavement design, airfield lighting and signage, utility installation and relocation, construction phasing, airport access roads and security facilities, and landside transportation facilities.
  • Assist with aviation group project management and business development.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and client communications.
  • Deliver tasks, manage budgets, and ensure quality control.
  • Supervise junior team members.
  • Serve as a strategic partner with firm directors and project teams to coordinate, create, and manage RFPs/RFQs and presentation processes.
  • Initiate and maintain client contact.
  • Identify and participate in conferences and speaking engagements.
  • Assist with presentation materials for speaking engagements.
  • Create and assemble brochures, presentations, and proposals as needed in coordination with the marketing and business development group.
  • Meet regularly with Practice Area leaders.
Requirements
  • BS in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer in Florida.
  • 12+ years of experience with aviation and airfield design experience.
  • Solid client relations and business development experience (preferred).
  • Proven Project Manager.
  • Proficient in MS Office, PowerPoint, MSProject, and InDesign. Photoshop & Illustrator a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of the regional market, drivers, and trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write persuasively.
  • Experience with governmental forms required for proposal submissions.
  • Must display strong interpersonal skills and resourcefulness in accomplishing the firm's internal and external marketing objectives.
  • Must be a strategic thinker.
  • Must have the ability to travel 20% of the time.
