Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer IV to join our Water Business Line in Coral Gables, Florida or Fort Lauderdale, Florida office. The successful candidate will work with Project Managers and other technical disciplines on all project phases to deliver a variety of water, wastewater, stormwater, and resiliency projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, permit, and construct municipal water/wastewater, stormwater, and resiliency projects.
- Provide senior technical expertise and serve as a technical advisor for the team.
- Communicate project tasks between offices, requiring high-level coordination and communication skills.
- Develop study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality, cost-effective work by others.
- Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
- Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
- Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
- Prepare technical specification sections.
- Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
- Oversee construction phase engineering services.
- Coordinate with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public to accomplish assigned objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Experience as a Professional Engineer in municipal water/wastewater and stormwater infrastructure engineering design projects.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Florida.
- Valid Driver's License and ability to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Experience mentoring or supervising other engineering professionals.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with diverse audiences.
- Positive attitude, good aptitude, and strong initiative.
- Experience in construction phase services.
- Proven leadership skills and demonstrated ability to successfully work with diverse teams.
- Demonstrated proven track record of leading technical engineering and successfully managing water, wastewater, and stormwater projects.
