Position Overview: The Senior Security Officer will oversee the Department of Defense (DoD) Collateral Program, applying extensive knowledge of DoD security protocols, policies, and practices, including 32 CFR Part 117. This role encompasses the management of collateral document oversight, classification, program briefings, and various security-related responsibilities, while working in close partnership with government associates, program directors, and other relevant parties.

Key Responsibilities

Document Oversight & Classification Management:
Facilitate collateral document oversight, ensuring appropriate classification management and compliance with DoD security protocols.

Program Assistance:
Deliver security program assistance, which includes conducting briefings, managing classified shipments, overseeing courier procedures, and supporting compliance evaluations.

Collaboration with Stakeholders:
Collaborate closely with government associates, security counterparts, program directors, and employee stakeholders to ensure efficient security operations.

Security Training:
Conduct security training sessions to uphold a high level of security awareness among personnel.

Incident Response:
Investigate security breaches, compile comprehensive reports, and suggest preventive measures to mitigate future risks.

Autonomous Decision-Making:
Exercise independent judgment and effectively manage responsibilities in a setting with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Thorough understanding of DoD security protocols, policies, and practices, particularly 32 CFR Part 117.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with a capacity to collaborate effectively with clients, government associates, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated capability to work autonomously and make informed decisions in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in delivering security training and managing security incidents.

Basic Qualifications:

Knowledge of NISPOM/32 CFR Part 117, policies, and procedures

Active Top Secret Clearance with Investigation or CV date within 5 years is required prior to start.

Experience with the following systems:
Defense Information System for Security (DISS)
National Industrial Security System (NISS)
Security Information Management System (SIMS) software
Security & Emergency Services Information Database System (SESIDS)
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment while also being capable of independent compliance management.

Desired Skills:

Ability to collaborate closely with government associates, security counterparts, program directors, and offices within the Department of Defense industry partners to ensure successful program execution.

Customer-focused and able to operate with limited supervision. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Security Clearance Statement: This position necessitates a government security clearance; candidates must be U.S. Citizens for consideration.

Clearance Level: Top Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in various locations is $67,200 - $128,900. This information serves as a general guideline only.
