Position Overview:
The Senior Cyber Systems Security Engineer will oversee the integration, testing, and deployment of both hardware and software systems, including embedded technologies.

This role encompasses network planning for Systems Integration Labs (SIL), providing software integration assistance, managing virtual machines, and designing and installing rack hardware. Responsibilities also include developing test procedures for SIL, as well as verifying and validating system functionalities.

The engineer will tackle intricate challenges related to both hardware and software systems, which includes modifying and maintaining system documentation such as network architecture, layout, and cable drawings.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage system integration, testing, and troubleshooting across various hardware and software configurations.
  • Install and manage equipment within server racks, while updating laboratory inventory.
  • Integrate hardware components for Systems Integration Labs (SIL).
  • Establish Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) and Closed-Loop development and testing within SIL.
  • Conduct product integration, regression, and verification testing, including system lab checkouts.
  • Engage in technical exchange meetings, interfacing with both internal and external customers, contributing to a wide array of program deliverables.
  • Collaborate with sub-system teams to integrate hardware and interface with other system elements.
  • Apply engineering principles to design components and systems in accordance with relevant standards and specifications.
  • Maintain design documentation and adhere to configuration management protocols.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification, such as CompTIA Security+, CySA, CCNA Security, SSCP, or GSEC.
  • Proficiency in networking technologies.
  • Experience with virtualized environments.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server.
  • Competence in network troubleshooting tools.
  • Knowledge of storage solutions and server management.

Desired Skills:
  • Expertise in networking technologies, including IGMP/multicast, OSPF, EIGRP, and SNMP.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms like VMware vSphere or Docker.
  • Familiarity with both Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems.
  • Proficiency in network troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark/NPcap, Nmap, and Cisco SPAN.
  • Understanding of Cisco networking equipment and Dell/HP storage solutions.
  • Experience with embedded systems, including ASIC or FPGA-based computing.
  • Strong grasp of architecture, design, and security principles.
  • Possession of Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification or equivalent qualifications.
  • Background in avionics, mission planning, integration and testing processes, and laboratory skills.
  • Experience in system integration and troubleshooting within a Systems Integration Lab.
  • Knowledge of computing systems, including processing, networking, storage, and display technologies.
  • Ability to create, modify, and maintain system test procedures.
  • Proficiency in cable fabrication, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with hardware deployment and configuration management.
  • Familiarity with LabView and RF design troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to mentor junior team members.
  • Experience with DevSecOps tools such as Ansible, Packer, Terraform, Jenkins, Git, and Docker.
  • Understanding of Agile frameworks and test automation concepts.
  • Experience in documentation and technical writing for system configurations and network diagrams.
  • Ability to model and simulate to assess feasibility and performance.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours to support program needs.

Security Clearance Statement:
This position necessitates a government security clearance; candidates must be U.S. citizens for consideration.

Clearance Level:
Secret with Investigation or CV date within five years.

Work Schedule:
Lockheed Martin offers a variety of alternate work schedules, including a 4x10 hour work week with three days off.
