Position Overview:
The Senior Cybersecurity Systems Engineer will play a pivotal role in the integration, testing, and deployment of both hardware and software systems, including embedded technologies.

This position encompasses SIL network design, software integration assistance, virtual machine setup and management, as well as the design and installation of rack hardware. Responsibilities also include the development of SIL testing protocols and the verification and validation of system performance.

The engineer will tackle intricate challenges related to both hardware and software systems. Duties will also involve the modification and upkeep of system schematics, including SIL network architecture, layout, cable diagrams, and rack designs.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and execute system integration, testing, and troubleshooting across various hardware/software configurations.
  • Install and manage equipment within server racks, maintaining accurate lab inventory.
  • Integrate hardware components for Systems Integration Labs (SIL).
  • Establish Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) and Closed-Loop testing methodologies within the SIL.
  • Conduct product integration, regression, and verification testing, including system checks in test labs.
  • Engage in technical discussions, collaborate with customers (both internal and external), and contribute to a wide array of program deliverables.
  • Coordinate hardware integration from sub-system teams and interface with other elements at both system and segment levels.
  • Utilize engineering principles to design components and systems adhering to relevant standards and specifications.
  • Maintain design documentation and comply with configuration management protocols.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification, such as CompTIA Security+, CySA, CCNA Security, SSCP, or GSEC.
  • Proficiency in networking technologies.
  • Experience with virtualized environments.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server.
  • Competence in network troubleshooting tools.
  • Understanding of storage solutions and server management.

Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of networking technologies including IGMP/multicast, OSPF, EIGRP, and SNMP.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere or Docker.
  • Familiarity with operating systems including Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Expertise in network troubleshooting tools like Wireshark/NPcap, Nmap, and Cisco SPAN.
  • Acquaintance with Cisco networking hardware and Dell/HP storage solutions.
  • Understanding of embedded systems, including ASIC or FPGA computing.
  • Strong grasp of architecture, design, and security principles.
  • Possession of Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification or equivalent credentials.
  • Background in avionics and SIL, along with experience in mission planning and integration and testing processes.
  • Experience in system integration labs and troubleshooting integration issues.
  • Familiarity with computing systems encompassing processing, networking, storage, and display technologies.
  • Capability to create, modify, and maintain system testing protocols.
  • Proficiency in cable fabrication, installation, and troubleshooting (BNC, ENET, RF, Fiber Optic, data).
  • Experience in deploying and managing hardware components.
  • Knowledge of LabView and RF design troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on complex, fast-paced programs.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Analytical mindset with a proven ability to solve complex problems innovatively.
  • Effective leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to mentor junior team members.
  • Experience with DevSecOps tools such as Ansible, Packer, Terraform, Jenkins, Git, GitLab, and Docker.
  • Familiarity with Linux and MS Windows Server environments.
  • Experience with Agile frameworks for project management.
  • Knowledge of test automation and continuous integration/deployment practices.
  • Experience in customer and vendor interactions, including presenting at design reviews.
  • Proficient in documentation and technical writing for system configurations and network diagrams.
  • Modeling and simulation skills to assess feasibility and performance.
  • Comfortable in a dynamic, startup-like environment.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours to support program needs.
  • Basic software tool operation skills for hardware functionality testing.
  • Knowledge of computer system and rack design, including power and cooling requirements.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.

Security Clearance Statement:
This role necessitates a government security clearance; candidates must be U.S. citizens for consideration.

Clearance Level:
Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years.
