Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior NDT Specialist, your focus will be on executing Nondestructive Testing (NDT) efforts, providing your specialized knowledge to our most important programs. You will collaborate with a diverse team of certified NDT Inspectors, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
Daily Activities:
In this dynamic environment, you will:
- Operate various advanced nondestructive testing equipment and technologies.
- Engage in multiple NDI disciplines, enhancing your technical proficiency.
- Participate in hands-on training to develop and refine NDI techniques.
Physical demands may vary based on the specific platform being supported, and candidates should be prepared for the following:
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods with limited breaks.
- Capability to walk significant distances throughout the day.
- Comfortable sitting for prolonged periods when necessary.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work at heights and climb as required.
- Willingness to perform overhead tasks.
- Capability to lift and carry a minimum of 30 lbs.
Essential Skills:
Candidates should possess:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in nondestructive testing.
- Documented NAS-410 Level II training and certifications in at least five NDT/NDI methods.
- Experience with various materials, including composite structures and metallics.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications and familiarity with engineering drawings are also required. A final secret clearance is necessary to commence this role.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the aerospace sector is advantageous, along with skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. The ability to conduct on-the-job training for new personnel and experience in radiography within an aerospace context are favorable.
Security Clearance Requirement:
This position necessitates a government security clearance, and candidates must be U.S. citizens for consideration.
Work Environment:
This role will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility, with various work schedules available to provide flexibility.
