Position Overview

The Eligibility Worker plays a crucial role in assisting patients and claimants in obtaining governmental benefits such as Medi-Cal, SSI/SSDI, and others, adhering to established protocols. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting screenings via phone or in-person to assess eligibility.
  • Completing and submitting applications to the relevant county offices.
  • Coordinating follow-ups with patients, families, and county representatives to ensure successful case resolution.
  • Maintaining accurate records in the hospital's database.
  • Traveling to various client sites to provide necessary support.
  • Participating in weekly meetings to share case updates and insights.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service or office settings, preferably in healthcare.
  • Proficient office skills and computer literacy are essential.
  • Experience with Medi-Cal is highly desirable.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute is required.

Compensation

The pay rate for this position ranges from $23.40 to $30.42 per hour, depending on experience.
