Case Specialist I

The Case Specialist I works as part of the administrative team providing direct services to families referred through the Family Court. The Case Specialist is responsible for conducting supervised visitation services and completing documentation for visits. He/She is responsible for conducting intakes of parents. She/he is responsible for compiling and editing reports sent to the Court. The Case Specialist oversees on-site shadow training of new staff, interns and volunteers. She/he contributes to the collection and maintenance of client services and demographic data. The Case Specialist's work schedule includes holidays, weekends and week days/evenings, as well as providing on-call coverage during direct service hours. She/he attends case staff meetings and supervision as scheduled. He/she works closely with other staff to identify and participate in the development of community resources for client referrals.
Responsibilities- Conduct supervised visitation services and complete documentation for visits
- Conduct intakes of parents and compile and edit reports sent to the Court
- Oversee on-site shadow training of new staff, interns and volunteers
- Contribute to the collection and maintenance of client services and demographic data
- Work closely with other staff to identify and participate in the development of community resources for client referrals
- 1-2 years of experience in a human services related field
- Years of education in a human services field beyond High School can replace years of experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Knowledge of Microsoft word processing
- Prior experience working with children and/or families
- Detail oriented
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills, with appropriate use of grammar rules and ability to edit documents
- Team oriented
- Able to maintain professional boundaries and a courteous demeanor in challenging situations
