As a Therapeutic Support Specialist, you will join our team of dedicated professionals in empowering educators and supporting staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for students with diverse needs.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year

Our mission is to create a safe, supportive environment that fosters academic and social success for students aged 5-22 across multiple Virginia locations. We work closely with families and schools to develop and implement effective strategies for student progress and improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct individual, group, and family counselling sessions based on needs assessments
  • Support classroom staff and teachers in implementing strategies for student progress
  • Work closely with district staff to ensure effective case management
  • Plan and deliver engaging social skills programs
  • Provide behavioral guidance and share expertise on behavior change principles
  • Assist in the collection of quality indicator data
  • Provide Crisis Intervention when needed

Requirements:
  • A master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a closely related field
  • Post-graduate supervision experience and completion of 3,000 hours of supervised clinical experience
  • Possess an active Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) certificate
  • Demonstrated understanding of Individualized Education Plan (IEP) development and implementation
  • Understanding and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and needs of students and families
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working in a school setting, ideally as an LPC
  • Proven ability to effectively manage crises and implement de-escalation techniques
  • Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
