Position Overview:

This role encompasses responsibilities as both a Unit Secretary and a Nursing Assistant. The Unit Secretary manages office tasks, clerical duties, and receptionist functions within the nursing unit, while the Nursing Assistant provides essential patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Both roles are vital in supporting the nursing unit's operations and adhering to established nursing policies and organizational objectives.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Communication and Customer Service: Welcome and assist patients and visitors, demonstrating professional communication skills. Answer phone calls promptly and accurately direct inquiries.
  • Order Management: Assist healthcare professionals with accurate order entry and processing, ensuring timely communication of new orders and alerts.
  • Chart Management: Maintain organized patient charts, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Patient Care: Provide compassionate care to patients, assisting with daily activities such as bathing, feeding, and mobility.
  • Documentation: Accurately document patient care activities and communicate pertinent information to the healthcare team.

Qualifications:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (required)
  • Certified Nurse Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Experience in an acute care setting or relevant clinical experience preferred
