Financial Management Leader

Follett is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Controller to lead our financial management team.
The Assistant Controller will be responsible for leading the month-end close process, financial statement compilation, management reporting, and adherence to internal control policies and procedures.
This is a key position that requires a high degree of confidence, attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
Essential Functions:- Manage all financial and accounting operations, including billing, AP/AR, general ledger, payroll, and GAAP compliance across the company.
- Manage accounts receivable team members, provide training, and performance feedback.
- Provide strong and dynamic leadership to the finance team across two plants.
- Provide comprehensive financial support to all facets of the organization, including monthly performance reports, expense variance reviews, and recommendations for corrective actions when needed.
- Research, provide support and expertise for technical accounting topics.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting, including all account reconciliations.
- Oversee compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Work with the finance management team to strengthen internal financial controls.
- Interact with other senior managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.
- Effectively communicate with coworkers, management, vendors, customers, and consultants as needed.
- Function as a liaison with external auditors to ensure timely issuance of year-end financial statements.
- Advocate for innovation and serve as an example for coworkers.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of previous supervisory experience in an accounting or corporate finance team environment is required.
- Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting is required.
- C.P.A. preferred but not required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with at least 3 years of experience managing an accounting or corporate finance team environment.
- Excellent US GAAP and technical issue knowledge is required.
- Previous manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
- Infor CSI experience is a plus but not required.
- Office environment - temperature controlled.
- Extended periods of sitting, occasional standing, and walking.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Regular use of hands and fingers to type on a keyboard, operate a computer mouse, use of telephone, and various office equipment.
