POSITION SUMMARY

The Executive Chef is tasked with cultivating a standard of excellence within the culinary team, ensuring that all culinary creations are executed with precision and adhere to top-tier standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and oversee the culinary team, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
  • Design and implement menus that are innovative, creative, and reflective of local flavors.
  • Guarantee that all dishes meet the highest quality and consistency standards, utilizing the freshest ingredients.
  • Manage food and labor costs effectively, ensuring budget compliance.
  • Promote a culture of excellence within the kitchen, encouraging creativity, teamwork, and ongoing improvement.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Build and sustain relationships with local suppliers to procure the finest ingredients.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and incorporate them into the culinary offerings.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to create outstanding guest experiences.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and operational.
  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering and receiving of supplies.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with industry professionals to enhance the restaurant's visibility.
QUALIFICATIONS

Required
  • Demonstrated history of culinary excellence with a strong grasp of local ingredients and techniques.
  • Exceptional leadership and management abilities, capable of inspiring a team.
  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills, with a collaborative approach.
  • Innovative mindset with the capability to develop and implement new culinary concepts.
  • Strong financial management skills, particularly in food and labor cost oversight.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Full availability, particularly for evening operations.
  • Experience in a luxury resort setting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A degree in culinary arts or a related field is advantageous.
  • Physical capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Desirable
  • Familiarity with the Spanish language.
  • Serve Safe Certification.
SKILLS

Required
  • Advanced culinary skills, including knife skills, cooking methods, and product identification.
  • Experience in Garde Manger and baking.
  • Supervisory skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Experience in kitchen administration.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to work long hours.
  • Knowledge of kitchen terminology and product availability.

  • Awareness of current food trends.
  • High level of creativity.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Some travel may be necessary for training, conferences, and special events.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Frequent need to perform physical activities such as reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Constant need for activities involving grasping, turning, and finger dexterity.
  • Occasional need to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs. frequently and 25 lbs. occasionally.
  • Vision requirements include the ability to see small details and items clearly beyond arm's reach.
  • Hearing requirements include the ability to communicate effectively and respond to alarms.
  • Must maintain good physical condition to stand for long periods and perform various physical tasks.
SALARY

$75,000 annually, including Medical, Dental, 401K, and vacation.
