Program Coordinator for Adoption Services

Lutheran Family and Children's Services of MO is seeking a compassionate and professional Program Coordinator to develop, coordinate, and provide post-adoption services for the Adoption Program statewide.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide adoption services to pre-adoptive and adoptive parents through home studies, matching support, post-placement services, and post-adoption services.
  • Develop and coordinate practice standards for post-adoption contact, including annual check-in processes with Adoption clients.
  • Develop and coordinate post-adoption events, including peer support groups, coaching, and case management services.
  • Partner with Adoption Psychoeducation Coordinator to develop materials for post-adoption services and with Exchange/Search/Reunion Coordinator to coordinate and provide services with overlap to meet client needs.
  • Coordinate and provide trauma-informed care to clients, building a positive working relationship to meet their goals through regular, consistent, face-to-face or virtual client contact.
  • Respond to client crisis situations within program parameters in a timely manner, according to program protocols, including on-call phone coverage as required.
  • Testify in court as required within program parameters, complete professional court reports, and present self and documentation/reports in a professional manner.
  • Serve as a mentor to Case Managers/Social Workers, develop and provide training on cultural competence, diversity, equity, and inclusion, therapeutic, and intervention techniques as applicable to job duties.
  • Provide supervision and mentoring to students/interns.
Qualifications:
  • Licensed driver with access to a reliable automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements.
  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Counseling, or other Human Behavior Science.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Counseling, or other Human Behavior Science, professionally licensed (LCSW/LPC) or provisionally licensed as LMSW/PLPC, with 2 years of experience in social services.
