Position Overview

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Research Project Manager to oversee a significant research initiative focusing on the relationship between alcohol consumption and interpersonal dynamics. This role involves coordinating various aspects of research projects, engaging with team members, and ensuring the successful execution of study protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage ongoing research initiatives and facilitate team meetings.
  • Collaborate with undergraduate and graduate research assistants in participant engagement and data collection.
  • Prepare necessary study documentation and assist in data analysis.
  • Contribute to the dissemination of research findings through publications and presentations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, public health, or a related discipline.
  • Strong attention to detail and a conscientious approach to work.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Interest in research related to substance use and interpersonal relationships.
  • Willingness to participate in data collection activities, including evening and weekend events.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and respect.
  • Strong organizational skills and the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Access to transportation for travel to various research sites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a research laboratory setting.
  • Familiarity with statistical software such as R or SPSS.
  • Prior experience in collecting sensitive data through direct interactions.
