Key Responsibilities:
• Design and execute comprehensive research projects related to Illumination, Visibility, and Human Factors in transportation systems.
• Tackle complex engineering challenges that may involve conflicting requirements and innovative technology solutions.
• Lead the development of research proposals and manage resource acquisition efforts.
• Conduct thorough literature reviews and synthesize findings into actionable insights.
• Prepare detailed reports and present research outcomes to stakeholders.
• Foster relationships with sponsors, ensuring alignment with their needs and securing ongoing funding.
• Focus on projects that enhance lighting and visibility standards for transportation infrastructure.
Required Qualifications:
• Doctorate in Engineering or Psychology with a specialization in Lighting or Visibility (consideration for advanced degrees with substantial experience).
• Proven expertise in lighting and visibility research methodologies.
• Strong analytical skills, particularly in the evaluation of intersection and interchange data.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis tools such as SAS, MatLab, and ArcGIS.
• Experience in Human Factors research.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic research environment and manage multiple projects effectively.
• Previous experience in project management, including coordination of diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Significant relevant experience in the transportation research field.

Compensation:
Starting salary of $90,000, commensurate with experience.
