Key Responsibilities:

Summary/Objectives:
The Set Electrics Team Supervisor is expected to possess expertise across various disciplines. This role requires the ability to adapt to shifting job responsibilities while ensuring product quality and adherence to schedules. A significant portion of the role involves developing designs that facilitate easy implementation, focusing on reusing and refining previous project work to enhance product quality while reducing costs. The supervisor is accountable for the final Quality Control Check of all products within their discipline prior to leaving the facility and providing support for these products in the field.

Supervisory Duties:
Coordinate team members and manage schedules effectively.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with Technical Directors, Electrics Designers, and Production Electricians to offer insights that align with the designers' intentions. Share responsibilities in bidding, designing, ordering, assembling, and testing set electric assemblies.
  • Work closely with Project Management and Operations Management to establish and meet project timelines.
  • Provide ongoing support for the existing portfolio of electrical designs.
  • Guide and supervise personnel in the Set Electric shop.
  • Design control risers and schematics for both permanent installations and theatrical applications.
  • Create electrical schematics suitable for in-house fabrication or outsourcing.
  • Travel to job sites to initiate and commission lighting and control systems as needed.
  • Engage in bidding, designing, ordering, programming, and testing automation-related control systems tailored for the permanent installation market.
  • Assist in researching and implementing new Set Electrics products.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with ETC consoles (knowledge of additional console manufacturers is advantageous).
  • Experience in Multi Universe Programming.
  • Understanding of control protocols such as DMX, RS232, DALI, etc.
  • Proficiency in Vector Works and/or AutoCAD.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with light metering tools.
  • Able to lead a team effectively.
  • Strong communication skills with team members and management.
  • Knowledge of Pixel Tape Management.
  • Understanding of LED Driver and Heat Management.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this role may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be exposed to follow spots and moving lights, loud noises, fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations.
  • Must be capable of lifting, pushing, pulling, and/or carrying objects up to 75 pounds as necessary.
  • Effective communication skills are essential, both in listening and in written and verbal forms.
  • Must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions, including heat, humidity, and cold.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel is expected to be less than 25% of the time, with occasional presence required on show sites.
  • A valid Driver's License is necessary.

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in designing solutions within the discipline.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Technical Theatre, Engineering, Design, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in CAD software.
