Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Housing Resource Specialist to join our team at Unity Care Group. As a Housing Resource Specialist, you will play a critical role in assisting system-involved youth in identifying independent-living housing and obtaining necessary resources.

In this position, you will work closely with case managers, government staff, and landlords to assist clients in living independently in their own housing. This includes locating and advising clients on appropriate and affordable housing options, developing and implementing an action plan with clients to secure housing, and maintaining good working knowledge of available housing in the community.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Assisting clients with completing necessary documentation for program compliance, housing vouchers, and UC contract obligations;
  • Serving as a liaison with landlords and utility companies to achieve stable housing for clients;
  • Providing transportation to clients as necessary;
  • Conducting housing quality inspections of properties and ensuring all units pass rent reasonableness as defined by HUD;
  • Entering required information in client database accurately and in a timely fashion;
  • Maintaining accurate case notes, client data, and other records according to agency, funder, and professional standards;

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in social work, psychology, or business, or 2 years' experience working with system-involved youth in a social services setting;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Good working knowledge of the greater San Francisco area;
  • Ability to engage verbally and in writing with system-involved youth, government staff, and property owners/landlords;
  • Commitment to serving those in need;
  • Excellent problem-solving ability;
  • High degree of initiative;
  • Genuine team player;
  • Ability to work with a culturally diverse staff and client base;
  • Stellar organizational skills;

Salary Range: $28-$30 per hour
