Job Description

CVR Associates, INC is looking for a dedicated Public Housing Specialist to join our team. As a Public Housing Specialist, you will work closely with clients and landlords to ensure the smooth operation of our Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program.

About the Job

This position performs various HCV program activities, including interviewing applicants/participants, ensuring required information is compiled and maintained, determining eligibility, verifying data, processing applications, issuing vouchers, and conducting home visits if necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interview Housing Choice applicants/participants to obtain all necessary documentation and complete files as required.
  • Ensure all required information is compiled and maintained in the applicant/participant file. Determine eligibility and/or ineligibility, verifies data, processes application, issues voucher, and conduct home visits, if necessary.
  • Assist client with inquiries and/or problems concerning their housing needs; provide direction regarding responses and resolutions to client inquiries.
  • Provide landlord interface assistance to include but not limited to abatement and inspections.
  • Investigate client issues requiring expertise in determining causes; to include inquires of potential fraud and misuse of funding; suggest and direct action plan for resolutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree PLUS one (1) year of previous experience working with the public in a Housing Choice Voucher Program or similar relevant experience.
  • High School diploma plus a minimum of four (4) years experience working with economically and socially disadvantaged individuals and/or families in a similar capacity.
  • Proficiency with current office technology and software applications.

Estimated Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is between $65,000 and $80,000, depending on experience.
