Position Overview

Hugg & Hall Equipment Company is seeking a skilled individual with mechanical expertise and strong customer interaction abilities to join our organization as a Field Service Equipment Technician. ROLE SUMMARY

The Field Service Equipment Technician plays a vital role within the Rental Service Team, tasked with the maintenance and repair of various types of equipment owned by both customers and the company.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Diagnosing and fixing a range of rental equipment at diverse customer sites to ensure each unit meets operational and safety standards.
  • Communicating effectively with all stakeholders, including Sales Representatives, Coordinators, Managers, and Customers, regarding potential downtime and updates on job progress.
  • Working safely and efficiently with minimal oversight to reduce equipment downtime while adhering to safety protocols both on-site and during vehicle operation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 1 year of mechanical training or relevant experience in a similar field
  • Possession or ability to acquire a complete set of tools, including specialized equipment necessary for on-site tasks
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Clean driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent

SKILLS FOR SUCCESS

  • Strong communication abilities
  • Capability to read and interpret schematics
  • Ability to perform tasks accurately and in a timely manner
  • Proficiency in working independently with minimal supervision

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role involves:

  • Working in operational facilities and outdoors, traveling to various customer locations, encountering different weather conditions.
  • Regularly engaging with equipment that presents potential hazards, necessitating the use of appropriate safety gear and practices.
  • Physical demands including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 100 pounds, as well as pushing or pulling weights up to 100 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, walking, twisting, climbing, and crawling, along with bending, stooping, kneeling, or squatting as part of daily activities.
  • Driving a company vehicle to and from customer sites.
  • Mandatory use of safety glasses and safety shoes.
  • Medical capability to perform all job functions safely.
