Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The role involves initiating the operation of new machinery and diagnosing issues with both new and existing equipment, as well as executing necessary repairs.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate with the Field Service Manager regarding the progress of each service assignment prior to departing from the service site. This includes details such as travel duration, mileage, service hours, customer contact name, parts utilized or needed for completion, and whether a follow-up visit is necessary.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with the Field Service Manager.
  • Reach out to clients to confirm anticipated service times or to inform them of any adjustments to the schedule.
  • Whenever feasible, secure a signed service report from the customer that includes the aforementioned details.
  • Encourage customers to arrange service through the Office Service Manager instead of directly contacting you.
  • Advise customers to acquire parts information via the Service/Parts Department rather than through direct communication with you.
  • Receive daily dispatch instructions from the Field Service Manager.
  • Limit office time to essential activities such as attending the weekly Field Service meeting, submitting time sheets, and collecting parts, tools, and instruments.
  • Uphold the company’s overarching mission, standards, policies, procedures, and confidentiality protocols.
  • Engage in daily travel within the designated region.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma, with vocational training in mechanical and electronic repair or a comparable mix of education, training, or experience.
  • No prior experience is necessary; on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Knowledge of relay logic and motor controls through experience or classroom instruction.
  • Familiarity with using a Volt Meter, including mA measurement and signal generation, through experience or classroom instruction.
  • Experience with an Amp Clamp through classroom learning or practical application.
  • Background in programming and calibrating process instruments through classroom instruction or hands-on experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires the following physical activities:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, and stooping; good finger dexterity and tactile sensitivity; frequent repetitive motions; and the ability to talk, hear, and maintain visual acuity.
  • Regular lifting of items weighing up to 150 pounds, including equipment, supplies, or tools.
  • Driving to various client locations and other necessary sites.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Standard office and outdoor field settings.
  • Regular travel within the designated region.
  • Occasional overnight travel, potentially lasting up to three consecutive nights.
