Pharmacy Technician II Certified

The Certified Pharmacy Technician II provides support to the pharmacist by reviewing, compounding, and dispensing medications in a pharmaceutical warehouse setting under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
Key Responsibilities- Fulfill medication and supply orders for distribution to hospitals and clinics within and/or affiliated with the health-system.
- Staff for a minimum of one full weekend (Saturday & Sunday) per month.
- Coordinate shipments to customers utilizing multiple couriers and shipment pathways and ensure compliance with temperature requirements.
- Document pharmaceutical distribution activities for medications and equipment, quality control requirements, etc. using automated and paper systems.
- Respond to and triage requests from customers for assistance with pharmacy distribution or compounding services.
- Utilize automated dispensing technology and related computer software to fulfill customer orders.
- Receive, restock, and rotate inventory, and complete expiration date management.
- Contribute to process improvement projects.
- Participate in regulatory compliance inspection and documentation of medication storage areas.
- Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
- CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
- Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
- Inventory management experience is preferred.
This position is employed by NC Health (Rex Healthcare, Inc., d/b/a NC Health), a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Health Care System, in a department that provides shared services to operations across UNC Health Care.
