We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician II to join our team at UNC Health. As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will play a critical role in supporting our pharmacists in providing exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities- Receive and accurately transcribe orders from prescribers under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Process prescriptions in a timely manner to ensure patient needs are met.
- Assist with training new employees and educate them on job-specific functions.
- Support Medication Therapy Management, Medsync, and other clinical outreach programs.
- Select and prepare medications as authorized by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
- Prepare medications for pick-up, delivery, or shipping, and process credits for unpurchased medications.
- Solve issues with patient payment, including prior authorization and patient assistance.
- Operate and support automated dispensing technology to supply correct medications for individual patients.
- Order, receive, restock, and rotate inventory and supplies, and contribute to expiration date management.
- Participate in process improvement projects.
- Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy (unless enrolled in a PharmD program).
- CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA (unless enrolled in a PharmD program).
- Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
