As a key member of the patient care team, the Respiratory Care Specialist is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in line with departmental requirements and consistent with the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.

The role involves performing a variety of diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures while monitoring patients receiving both invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.

You will conduct and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure. You will also perform diagnostic procedures to assess the need for and response to respiratory therapy.
Your responsibilities will include administering respiratory care therapies, such as oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
You will initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
A current Colorado Respiratory License is required, along with graduation from an AMA-accredited Respiratory Therapist Program.
