The Board of Directors is on the lookout for a visionary leader to collaborate with its dedicated staff and board, enhancing programmatic value for members and broadening the membership base.


Key Responsibilities:


Board Development: Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors to invigorate and engage their participation in policy-making, membership expansion, and enhancing the organization's visibility.
Assist the Board in establishing a strategic vision for the future while pinpointing opportunities for growth and enhancement.
Design an onboarding and training program for new board members.
Continuously assess board governance, leadership roles, and overall effectiveness.

Finance & Operations: Aid in crafting and overseeing the annual budget in partnership with financial management personnel and the Board Finance Committee.
Ensure the annual budget is adequately funded and that the organization maintains sufficient cash flow.
Generate monthly financial reports and establish budgets for events and programs.
Forge and sustain strategic alliances and collaborative partnerships with organizations, community leaders, local government, and elected officials.
Focus on key administrative and operational processes to identify areas for improvement.
Inspire and assess staff performance through established evaluation metrics.
Implement cross-training initiatives and a knowledge transfer program for staff.
Maintain a consistent focus on equity and inclusion.
Review IT business platforms to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Program Management: Coordinate with instructors and partners to deliver training for members.
Ensure that training initiatives yield a Return on Investment for members.
Oversee contracts with instructors and training facilities.
Member Engagement & Recruitment: Set objectives for new member acquisition and existing member renewals.
Assist in managing customer service and onboarding for new members.
Develop and oversee a member referral program to generate new membership leads.

Analyze the current membership structure and implement innovative strategies to diversify membership, strengthen peer-to-peer engagement, and enhance membership value in cost-effective manners.

Streamline communication to members for clarity and ease of understanding.
Vendor Relations: Secure sponsorships for ASTA events and the ASTA Expo.
Develop value-added activities for member and vendor engagement.
Government Affairs: Guide the direction of the organizational legislative agenda.
Review quarterly updates from the Legislative Affairs Director.
Address any legislative concerns from members and coordinate engagement activities with the Legislative Director.
Meet with elected officials as necessary.
Ensure ASTA complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
Marketing & Event Coordination: Establish standardized sponsorship benchmarks for annual events.

Implement a comprehensive Communications and Marketing strategy for the organization, including event materials, member engagement strategies, social media, and web presence.

Manage an event and engagement calendar to track outreach activities.
Contract with an event planner for upcoming events.

Create a detailed work plan for events in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including follow-up with members post-events.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in business, human resources, finance, or a related field.

A minimum of five years of experience leading a nonprofit organization or in senior management roles, preferably within nonprofit settings, with knowledge of leadership and management principles; experience in the automotive or tire industry is advantageous.

Demonstrated success in recruiting membership and vendor partners is essential.

We seek a dynamic, visionary, strategic thinker capable of collaborating with board and staff to articulate the organization's strategic future to partners, members, and the community.

Strong fiscal management skills, including experience in budget creation and monitoring in partnership with the board finance committee, are required.

An entrepreneurial mindset with an innovative approach to business planning and organizational growth is essential.

Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate with member organizations, community members, government agencies, elected officials, and other stakeholders is crucial.

Excellence in organizational and time management, with the ability to recruit, coach, motivate, and inspire staff to create a high-performing team.

Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively are necessary.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making, and delegation skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive communicator with excellent interpersonal abilities and confidence in public speaking.

Ability to work effectively with diverse groups is essential.
