POSITION SUMMARY:

RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS:

Foster a culture aligned with our core values of integrity, excellence, and concern for others in recruiting, developing, and managing the performance of the operations team.

Oversee the annual planning process for key operational divisions, collaborating with the President and leadership team to establish annual objectives.

Manage the daily operations of core divisions while cultivating a strong leadership team through development, coaching, and accountability.

Possess a comprehensive understanding of the industry and the company's operations.

Formulate and execute strategies and policies to consistently surpass our Best of Class objectives; focusing on labor management, operational process improvements, and controlling key operational expenses.

Take ownership of the P&L with a keen focus on profitable growth; manage the bidding process for contract labor, assess labor quotes for accuracy, and ensure precise monthly billing for storage and project management change orders.

Maintain a customer-centric organization.

Establish robust feedback mechanisms by soliciting customer insights; leverage this information to meet future consumer demands through post-project evaluations and corrective actions.

Ensure all team members are equipped with the necessary tools to perform their roles effectively and efficiently.

Conduct biannual meetings with each team to discuss successes and identify areas for improvement.

Oversee all facility requirements, including HVAC, fire/sprinkler systems, and maintenance of grounds and office spaces.

Lead the safety committee to guarantee a secure working environment for all team members.
Provide weekly updates to the President.

LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:


The successful Chief Operations Officer must possess proven senior-level leadership experience, along with a track record of building high-performance teams and nurturing a values-driven culture.

The Chief Operations Officer will be responsible for leading the ideation, development, and execution of operational strategies to achieve both short and long-term profit objectives.

He/She will embody a hands-on servant leadership style, capable of building, enhancing, and supporting a highly motivated and high-performance team.

A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

5-10 years of leadership experience in operations management (preferably within an office furniture dealership, though related industries are also valued).

Demonstrated expertise in profit & loss management and cost control.
Skilled in formulating, presenting, and executing annual business plans.
High standards of accountability and teamwork.
Comfortable operating at both strategic and tactical levels.
Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.
Effective hiring, training, and development capabilities.
Experience with office furniture, walls, flooring, and commercial relocation projects.
Proficiency in warehouse and distribution management.
