Position Summary:

The Facilities Maintenance Lead is responsible for overseeing the maintenance team, ensuring that all preventive and corrective maintenance tasks are executed efficiently and safely. This role requires a proactive approach to managing maintenance activities and a focus on fostering a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance crew, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to team members on equipment usage, maintenance procedures, and safety measures.
  • Plan and schedule preventive maintenance tasks, mechanical repairs, and installation of new equipment.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of job sites to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Utilize a computerized maintenance management system to track work orders, document maintenance activities, and maintain accurate records.
  • Evaluate crew performance, provide feedback, and maintain attendance records.
  • Develop and update job procedures for maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure necessary materials and supplies are available for maintenance projects.
  • Engage with external vendors and contractors as needed for specialized maintenance services.
  • Facilitate regular safety meetings and inspections to uphold compliance with safety regulations.
  • Assist in budget preparation for maintenance-related expenditures.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent technical certification in a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in maintenance or facilities management within a relevant industry.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and maintenance best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Knowledge of various mechanical systems, including hydraulic systems, electrical distribution, and general maintenance practices.
