Mobile Health Center Driver

Position Summary:

This dual role is responsible for driving the Mobile Health Center to safely and efficiently transport a team of healthcare professionals, including two Health Care Assistants and one Clinician. You will also serve as the primary security representative during affiliate In-Clinic Procedure (ICP) days, ensuring patient and staff safety.

Essential Functions:

  • Safely operate the Mobile Health Unit with a strong understanding of all vehicle systems and functions.
  • Ensure the safety of all passengers.
  • Obey all traffic laws and speed limits.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and operational effectiveness of the Mobile Health Unit.
  • Visually inspect and manually test the Mobile Health Unit before departure and before accepting passengers.
  • Operate communications devices, emergency response equipment (fire extinguisher, flares or reflectors, chains, shovel, blankets, survival supplies, defensive and diversionary devices), and contingency equipment.
  • Coordinate and plan efficient driving routes based on scheduled community locations.
  • Serve as the primary security representative at the Health Center during ICP days to ensure patient and staff safety and operational cohesiveness.
  • Continuously monitor for potential concerns; identify and escalate any issues to the Supervisor, Vice President, IT and Facilities Infrastructure, Director of Facilities and Security, and local law enforcement when necessary.
  • Determine primary and alternative routes; analyze routes to identify safe zones, choke points, danger zones, and zones of total predictability.
  • Understand and practice surveillance detection and pre-attack recognition and avoidance skills.
  • Possess a strong understanding of and ability to use non-lethal defensive skills and equipment.
  • Be prepared to act in the event of a medical emergency occurring to passengers en route.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Assume additional responsibilities and perform other duties as directed by the Vice President, IT and Facilities Infrastructure.
  • Regularly check personal email account for important affiliate-related communications.
