Overview of the MRU: The Mobile Response Unit operates in partnership with law enforcement to effectively address mental health emergencies through prompt engagement, needs assessment, and provision of immediate support and connections to essential services. These services may include crisis prevention, stabilization, treatment programs, peer support, care management, and social services. The team is tasked with managing a diverse array of behavioral health crises, including crisis resolution, suicidal ideation, wellness checks, substance misuse, and more, employing trauma-informed, de-escalation, and harm reduction strategies. This program operates with a 24/7 staffing model.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver culturally competent direct clinical triage and assessment services, which may encompass assessment and treatment planning, crisis counseling, and community education. Services are provided to individuals anywhere within the community.
  2. Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions in the electronic health record to ensure a permanent record of client activity in accordance with established protocols.
  3. Identify and address case management needs of clients, coordinating with agency staff and community organizations to meet these needs.
  4. Collaborate with community agencies and services, particularly regarding social determinants of health, to address the immediate needs of individuals. Establish and nurture relationships with community providers and resources to facilitate communication and continuity of care.
  5. Engage regularly with law enforcement, emergency services, and first responders.
  6. Contribute to program development and participate in required training sessions.
  7. Adhere to established agency and program policies and procedures.
  8. Uphold professional standards of conduct.
  9. Operate agency vehicles as necessary.
  10. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  1. The Licensed Clinician must possess one of the following New York State licenses: LMSW, LMHC, LCSW, or other relevant licensure may be considered.
  2. Availability for rotating weekends and holidays is required.
  3. Proficiency in computer systems, including the ability to navigate electronic health records, is essential. Candidates must demonstrate reliability and the capacity to work independently while maintaining confidentiality.
  4. Bilingual candidates, particularly those fluent in Spanish, are strongly preferred.
  5. A valid Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record are mandatory.
  6. Must obtain and maintain Defensive Driver Certification within 30 days of employment.
  7. Compliance with pre-employment clearances as required by applicable regulations is necessary.
  8. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Employee Classification: Exempt; Full-Time
