Position Overview:
The Evening Pastry Chef will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items in line with production needs and quality benchmarks while ensuring a clean and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare food items consistently according to established recipes and portion standards.
- Initiate the preparation of food items in advance, ensuring that production does not exceed estimated requirements.

- Label all food containers and rotate stock according to standard operating procedures, ensuring perishables are stored at appropriate temperatures.

- Monitor inventory levels for the shift, determining necessary preparations and setup.
- Report any shortages or out-of-stock items.
- Return unused food items to designated storage areas, ensuring all perishables are properly covered and dated.

- Collaborate on strategies to address any food cost issues; manage food waste and usage in accordance with standard operating procedures.


Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- At least one year of experience in food service or a related field.
Skills:
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with kitchen staff.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

- Regularly lift food cases and equipment weighing up to 70 lbs, approximately 75% of the time.
- Periodic climbing and bending are required, particularly when accessing lower ovens.
- Full mobility is necessary, with the ability to navigate 30-50 feet throughout the day.
- Continuous standing is expected during food preparation and service hours.
- Must be able to hear equipment timers and communicate effectively with team members.
- Visual acuity is required to ensure proper food preparation.
- Moderate literacy is necessary to read records and special requests.

Work Environment:
- The position is primarily indoors for the duration of an 8-hour shift. Freezer temperatures may reach -10 degrees, while service areas can exceed 100 degrees.
